Ok…I take great risk with this post for I am going to speak out of “both sides of my mouth”. You will see what I am talking about in a minute. Keep reading!
In order to read any further you MUST be completely honest with yourself. For 99% of you, you started your home-based, MLM, network marketing company for all the right reasons. This was truly your way out of the rate race. The reason WHY is different for each person. You know your “WHY”. Then the failures begin to pile up. Here’s a short list of things MOST new home-based business owners fail to do right out then gate then later say “IT…didn’t work for me“.
- Set yourself up to win by choosing a company based on specific principles it will ALLOW YOU to win. Yep, most of you failed right here.Even the right activities in the wrong ‘deal” will eventually be a recipe for failure. I am NOT saying you can’t, won’t or didn’t make any$. If that is your only measure for success…then you failed already. The idea is to build a long-term residual income without hurting anyone (Including you) along the way. A business to last a lifetime NOT a lunch time. If MLM is good enough for Warren Buffet, it could be good enough for you too!
- You never committed to the products. Belief in the products and services is the very foundation of YOUR success. I am not simply re-stating ” I have to believe in something to sell it”. That is so common, I think it’s plain old BS. This is much deeper and more impactful than that.Truth of the matter is, without this deep belief in your company and products you will fold like a cheap card table at the 1st sign of conflict or rebuttal. You follow me? Do you think I am ‘emotionally attached” to the Clean Green Renewable Energy that my company provides? I tell my customers “look, I use this company to power my TV, and Heat my house, and you use “that” company to do the same thing. The difference is I get a check in the mail every month, what do you get?” Isn’t that the truth of it all? Is my check a HUGE income? NOPE. But it sure does help. I have other sources of income as well. Let’s keep in mind, this income is for spare-time work. MOST of it is residual. It happened for three (3) reasons.
- I chose the right company.
- I use the products every day.
- I talk to people.
Brings me to the next topic.
- KEEP IT SIMPLE. We really only do two (2) very basic activities. YES…there are many methods but it falls into only two functions. 1. We use the products and services and 2. We talk to people. That’s it. Don’t over-think it. ALL the other activities such as training, webinars, conference calls, meetings, 3-way calls, online ‘stuff’ are only methods of talking to or learning how to talk to MORE people. You see ALL of these type businesses are simply a numbers game. YEP, admit it guys, that’s the ONLY secret. If a blind dog with a note in his mouth showed the “plan” to more people than you did, The dog wins!
- Think marketing; My experience is in marketing and start up of new companies. MLM is great because the company side is all ready setup and going. We just need to get you to market it right. The basis of ALL marketing efforts holds true. ‘Have something to say, say it well, say it often“. Keep that in mind and you will win.
