If you have been in any Network Marketing, Direct Selling, MLM, I am sure it has crossed your mind at least once or twice before. No one can stay motivated forever. Maybe your warm market dried up and you don’t know what the next step is. Or maybe you have so many leads its easier to just quit than call them and make this work. Much like any other career, motivation keeps you going in spite of tough times and what-not.
However, there are times when your efforts do not seem to be paying off. When this happens, you feel discouraged and at the very worst, you might even be overpowered by the feeling of quitting. The thing is staying motivated when you are in the MLM business can be quite tricky. This is because there are so many distractions all around us—that dishearten us even, which makes it difficult to stay focused on our goals.
A trick I have discovered is to share your thoughts and feelings to your mentor or a confidante at the very least. Your mentor has been in the industry for quite a lot of time obviously, and the chances of his being able to offer you good advice and pep talk are fairly high. That being said, it is also important to surround yourself with the right people. Steer clear from those who are quick to judge your current business or career and stick with those who truly understand your situation.
Also, you can try reading inspirational books or listening to motivational audio that can uplift your spirits regarding MLM. These can help alter your mindset and even inhibit your limiting beliefs from taking over your being.
Finally, always keep your goals—both long-term and short-term, in mind. Whether you want to be a mega-seller, to pay off your loans or to have disposable income, or to send your kids to the best schools, these can help encourage you to stay in your business. You might need to take baby steps before taking the big leap sometimes, but always remember that it will all be worth it in the end. Success is just around the corner. You have to put in the effort to get there first.
